Comments Off on American Muslims for Democracy (AMD) condemns the Florida Nightclub Shooting
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
On behalf of the Muslim community of New Jersey, we would like to express our shock, sorrow, and condemnation of the murder of 50 people and injuring 53 others on early Sunday morning June 12, 2015 at Orlando, Florida.
Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the families of the deceased and the injured. Especially during this month of Ramadan, a time of deep spirituality, compassion, self-control, and generosity, we are horrified by this action.
As the Qur’an states, “Whoever kills a person, it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an 5:32)
We reject the hate and anger that leads to this kind of acts of violence.
As proud Americans, we reiterate our commitment to peace, safety, and security of our nation, as well as our solidarity with fellow Americans.
